It’s the first time that the two talented students of two maestros will meet together on the stage of SANTIPUR, KOLKATA on 20th AUGUST,6.00p.m.
One of them is the very talented and devoted upcoming sarod player of the SENIA BANGASH GHARANA.He was born in a highly enriched musical family.one of his grandfather PANDIT BIBHUTIBHUSHAN MUKHERJEE was a pakhwaz player. Inspired by his father SHRI RAMAKANTA MUKHERJEE he started learning SAROD under the guidance of DIPTESH BHATTECHARYA at the age of five. SRINJOY GAVE his first public performances at the age of ten.
Latter he was groomed by PANDIT KAMAL MULLICK and was a general student of KOLKATA SANGEET RESEARCH ACADEMY.
At present srinjoy takes lessons from USTAD AMAAN ALI KHAN & also gets advice from THE SAROD-SAMRAT, PADMABIBHUSHAN USTAD AMJAD ALI KHAN. Apart from sarod, srinjoy is a student of RABINDRA BHARATI UNIVERSITY, KOLKATA (MUSIC HONOURS).

Asif Khan –was born as a child prodigy to a family of great musicians whose heritage goes back to the late 11th century A.D of the MIR AKASA lineage. He is one of the youngest amongst the renowned
Tabla players of the country, and at a young age his incredible dexterity, richness, superb tonal quality and maturity surprise any listener or connoisseur of music. Grandfather late Ustad Karamatullah Khan, great-grand father late Ustad Masit Khan and father, Ustad Sabir Khan, is the most celebrated Tabla maestros in the history of Classical Music.
Asif belongs to the famous “Farukkhabad Gharana” which was co-founded by late Haji Ustad Vilayat Hussain Khan Sahab. He is the 34th descendent of this unbroken lineage. He is also blessed to have the “Kirana Gharana” from the part of his mother, Begum Farida Khan, the daughter of the legendary maestro late Ustad Fayyaz Ahmed Khan.
Arif Khan received intensive rigorous Talim from his father from the age of 10. At the age of 16 his first remarkable performance was an unforgettable one, in which he performed jugalbandi with Ustad Sabir Khan and his brother Shree Arif Khan at Carnatic festival {Mumbai}in the memory of late Ustad Nizzamuddin Khansaheb. He has also performed with the likes of Pdt Kushal Das, Pdt Partha Bose, Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan, and Ustad Zainul Abedin.
